Hi, I’m Ruth, the woman behind Not Just a VA.

I like to think of myself as your second brain, your right-hand woman, the person you didn’t know you needed, until now.

Before starting Not Just a VA, I was the managing consultant at a boutique recruitment agency in the legal sector. I’ve also worked for one of the UK’s top corporate guest services companies, leading a team of over 90 front-of-house staff and supporting six directors.

My experience spans real estate too. I’ve negotiated property sales across South West London and I’ve been quietly building my own property portfolio in the North East of England.

Oh, and fun fact, I actually come from a performing arts background! I started dancing at age 2, trained at the BRIT School and the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, and later worked at the Royal Academy of Dance, running their global membership scheme.

Working across all these industries has taught me how to communicate well, juggle multiple priorities, handle sensitive conversations, negotiate, and just... get stuff done, with a smile, and usually a matcha in hand.

Starting this business was a no-brainer for me. It’s the perfect way to bring together everything I’ve learned over the years, while doing what I love most, helping people.
